Hundreds of times a day, nurses administer life-saving drugs to their patients. And delivering the five rights of medication administration is priority number one. Which is why the MDG Bedside Solution is such an important tool.
This system, which includes the SmartCart™, eMar, barcode-based medication administration and bedside documentation, provides automated, accurate medication dispensing at the patient’s bedside. The prescribed medication is transferred from the cabinet to the patient’s drawer in the SmartCart. Only when the patient’s barcode is scanned, can the nurse open the patient specific drawer and administer the meds. The nurse can also include electronic notes, which adds another dimension of safety and security.
The SmartCart is a key in providing the ServeRx™ closed loop solution while supporting:
- Open architecture for multiple eMAR platforms
- Wireless (WiFi & Bluetooth)
- Barcode reader
- Biometric reader for user identification
The MDG bedside solution can be a component of the ServeRx system or integrated with a third party hospital information system.
